Our Hormonal Panel

Our Hormonal

Panel

The Hormone Panel, developed in partnership with Femmflo, is the most comprehensive hormone assessment available in South Africa. Hormone results are always interpreted in context.

Medical history, surgery, medication use, life stage, and symptoms all affect how hormone levels are understood. Femmflo does not use one-size-fits-all interpretation, your results are reviewed alongside your individual context to guide next steps.

Full package: R1437

Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH)

FSH is a hormone involved in the regulation of the menstrual cycle and the development of eggs in the ovaries. It is tested to assess ovarian reserve, diagnose menopause, or investigate fertility issues.

Luteinizing Hormone (LH)

LH plays a crucial role in ovulation by triggering the release of an egg from the ovary. This test helps evaluate ovulatory function, diagnose conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and assess reproductive health.

Oestradiol

Oestradiol is the primary form of estrogen in women and is vital for reproductive and overall health. Measuring oestradiol levels helps monitor ovarian function, fertility, and hormonal imbalances related to menopause or PCOS.

Total Testosterone

Total testosterone levels are measured to assess androgen levels in women. Abnormal levels can indicate conditions such as PCOS, adrenal disorders, or androgen-secreting tumours.

SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin)

SHBG is a protein that binds to testosterone and oestrogen, controlling how much of these hormones are active in the body. When SHBG is too high or too low, it can reduce hormone availability and contribute to symptoms like low energy, mood changes, acne, or cycle irregularities.

Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH)

TSH regulates thyroid function, which influences metabolism, energy, and hormonal balance. Testing TSH helps detect hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, both of which can impact reproductive health.

Ferritin

Ferritin is a protein that stores iron in the body. Low ferritin levels can indicate iron deficiency, which is linked to fatigue, hair loss, and menstrual irregularities, while high levels can signal inflammation or other health issues.

HPV screening made accessible

HPV screening plays a key role in preventing cervical cancer and is often covered by South African medical aids as part of preventive benefits, particularly if a Pap smear hasn’t been done in the past year. Through our lab partner, Epicentre, eligibility is checked upfront, helping many users avoid out-of-pocket costs.

When self-funded, the same comprehensive HPV type analysis costs R1,925. Results are then securely linked into your Femmflo profile, adding meaningful reproductive health context alongside hormone and wellbeing data.
